(Canadian, b.1982) Kelsey is an artist best known for her vibrant, symbolic compositions. Born in Trail, BC, Canada, she earned her BEd, majoring in Art from the University of Alberta. Baker’s art, regardless of theme, combines vivid colour, patterns and symbolism. Her work often includes a wide range of references from across portraiture, symbolism, psychology, social research, history and culture. 

 

Her work is largely influenced by the work’s of Kehinde Wiley, Joseph Cornell, Martine Johanna, Gustav Klimnt, Salvador Dali and Frieda Khallo. Nowaczynski Baker’s work has been exhibited in The Woman’s Art Museum of Canada, Whyte Avenue Art Walk, St. Albert’s Night of Artists and showcased in local businesses. She lives and works as an Artist and Educator in Edmonton, Alberta.
